Programs & Tuition

“Creativity is as important as literacy” . Sir Ken Robinson

About Our Program

We are a unique early childhood center that offers a variety of programs, including toddler groups, transition groups for 2-year-olds, and preschool classes. All of our programs share the common goal of allowing children the opportunity to use their innate curiosity and passion for exploration to make sense of the world. We have created a space full of physical, creative, social, imaginative and cognitive challenges and we encourage children to direct their own play and learning. Whether by accomplishing a new physical feat, making a friend, or experiencing the satisfaction of creating a work of art, it is our hope that each child leaves here with a feeling of success and competence. We live in a hurried, demanding world. It is our objective to provide a sanctuary where children can be children and do what they do best: learn through play.

Toddler Program

Toddler (Parent and Me): For children 12 to 24 months

Our Toddler program introduces little ones to group experiences with other children. A parent or caretaker stays with the child throughout the session and, together, they participate in a variety of stimulating activities, including gym or outdoor play, simple art projects, music and storytelling.

Friday: 9:00 am to 10:30 am

1 day/week ...... $550/session

Transition Program (Guppy Class)

Transition: For children 2-2.5 years old

The Guppy program is a unique pre-preschool experience that bridges the gap between a toddler class, where a parent or caretaker stays and engages with his/her child(ren), and preschool, where children are dropped off.  In many ways, the Guppy class has a similar structure to our younger preschool classes, modified for this age group with a slow, gradual approach to separation. A parent or caretaker stays with the child until s/he begins to bond with teachers and we gradually work on the separation process together.  Includes a variety of age appropriate activities, e.g. art, dramatic play, center exploration, gym activities and storytelling.

Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 am to 11:00 am

2 days/week ...... $4750/school year

Preschool Programs

Preschool: For children 2.5 years old until entering kindergarten

In our preschool classes, teachers facilitate social interaction, help children problem solve and encourage involvement in a variety of child-directed, experiential activities designed to promote cognitive, physical and social-emotional growth.

Please read Classroom Descriptions below:

Butterfly Class:  (for children aged 2.5 to 3 years)

The Butterfly class is developmental, experiential and play-based.  Many children in the Butterfly class have never been in school before and may not yet have developed the skills necessary to follow teacher directions and negotiate with other children.  While children are given a lot of room to make their own choices, they are also gently introduced to group expectations.  The Butterfly teachers help facilitate interaction and conflict resolution between children, work on the development of focus and self-control and use narration to assist children in identifying and dealing with their feelings.

Ducky Class:  (for children aged 3 to 3.5 years)

The Ducky class is a magical space where the diversity and uniqueness of every child and family is honored. The teachers’ mission is to foster a sense of class community so that, in time, little ones come to think of their classmates and teachers as an extended family.  They seek to help the children with whom they work feel safe and loved; to release inhibitions and explore feelings, thoughts and concepts; to learn how to reach out for assistance as well as become leaders; and to develop pride in mastering new lessons and routines. The Ducky class is inclusive of everyone’s passions and their class motto is: ONE FOR ALL, AND ALL FOR ONE.  The Ducky class is also subject to impromptu dance parties at any given time.

Orange Popsicle Class:  (for children aged 3.5 to 4 years)

In the Orange Popsicle class, the teachers team teach and integrate themes, but they also embrace an emergent curriculum which comes directly from the children.  Every year, the curriculum is slightly different, because no two classes are exactly the same.  The teachers encourage self-expression through play and their primary goal over the course of the school year is to help children become ready to take the next step, both in school and in life.

Rainbow Popsicle Class:  (for children aged 4.5+ years )

In the Rainbow Popsicle class, independence is fostered, teamwork is promoted and children are helped to develop the skills of grit and perseverance which will serve them in both school and life.  In order to prepare the students for the next step in their educational journey, autonomy is emphasized and children learn that they are capable of so much more than they might initially think.  The children are encouraged both to ask lots of questions and also to listen to the thoughts and ideas of their peers.  A great deal of emphasis is also put on practicing care and concern for others.
